All of our laboratory equipment and staff training is provided by Metrohm, who specialise in precision instruments for chemical analysis. This means that we have the ability and knowledge to deliver reliable results.
About Metrohm
Metrohm is a global top manufacturer of precise instruments for chemical analysis. They have held the undisputed number one position in electrochemical ion analysis for numerous years.
Metrohm's success can be attributed to their knack for creating cutting-edge innovations. Their project teams bring together chemists, skilled electronics engineers, software developers, and designers who collaborate closely.
Since their establishment over 70 years ago, Metrohm has been manufacturing exclusively at their headquarters in Herisau, Switzerland. While many industries move production overseas for cost reasons, Metrohm continues to produce in Herisau, ensuring control over every aspect of production, down to the smallest details.
Their instruments and applications are utilised across various industries, such as environmental analysis, where ensuring water quality is crucial. With Metrohm instruments, detecting toxic heavy metals at levels as low as parts per trillion (ppt) is achievable. To put this into perspective, one ppt is equivalent to a small cube of sugar dissolved in a reservoir containing 2.7 billion liters of water.
About Professional VA
PRN Water Services uses Metrohm's Professional VA machine, a versatile analyser for voltammetric trace analysis of metal ions and other substances. This advanced instrument enables swift and precise execution of complex analyses.
The Professional VA range covers a broad spectrum of voltammetric and polarographic analyses, allowing for the examination of trace levels of various elements, such as lead (Pb), with a detection limit of 50 ppt (parts per trillion).
By utilising polarography and stripping voltammetry, the Professional VA device accurately determines transition metals. Voltammetry stands out for its ability to achieve low detection limits and minimal interference from high concentrations of dissolved solids.
The machine's configuration enhances user experience and measurement accuracy by minimising the need for user intervention.
